More About Acupuncture
The most common purpose to acupuncture is to relieve pain. Traditional Chinese medical practitioners believe that balancing the chi energy in a person's body will bring physical harmony and therefore relieve pain. Other Asian countries also practice acupuncture although China is the earliest recorded source of acupuncture discipline.
The active methodology in acupuncture is to modify vital systems of the body placing the acupuncture needles at acupuncture points for pressure and sometimes heat stimulus. The acupuncture points are found along chi meridians of the body relating to the systems of the body, many of which are actually organs, e.g. heart, kidney, stomach, spleen, etc.
