More Visualization Exercise No. 1
After you have taken a comfortable seat, on a good chair or the floor, you want to relax a little bit by closing your eyes and softening your shoulders. Keep your back straight, now breathe deeply and slowly five times - always five times. Now what is your goal? What beneficial thing are you trying to achieve or attain?
When you have a firm idea of your goal, see it in your mind. Do not complicate your visualization with anything around your goal, just see the actual goal, whether object or concept. Visualization Exercise No. 1 is all about recognizing that obstacles may interrupt your vision. That is normal and certainly a part of your everyday. You may allow these obstacles to mask your goal temporarily.
We will use the obstacles as an important tool in your visualization exercise. Some obstacles will be expected or predicted easily. Some may not make a lot of sense but will cover up the visualization of your goal. This is very good because you will use them to focus more clearly on your goal. See your original goal behind the obstacle? Yes you can. Because you know your goal is behind, now move the obstacle peacefully away. Practice doing this with all obstacles that arise in this meditative visualization exercise.
